Sales Administrator
East Knapton, North Yorkshire | Full-Time | Office-Based | 8am 5pm Mon-Fri
Ryetec is growing its sales support team and is looking for an experienced Sales Administrator to play a key role in supporting our Sales Managers and looking after our customers and authorised dealers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being organised, keeping things moving and making sure customers receive the information and service they need.
Our Sales Managers are regularly out on the road meeting customers, dealers and prospective customers, so this role is particularly important in keeping the sales process running efficiently from the office. You'll be the person making sure quotations are prepared, orders are processed, information is up to date and customers are kept informed.
We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, commercially aware and confident taking responsibility. Ideally, you'll have at least three years' experience in sales administration or sales support, preferably within manufacturing, engineering, agricultural machinery or another product-led business.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll provide the administrative backbone to our sales operation, including:
- Supporting Sales Managers with the day-to-day administration of their customers and sales activity.
- Producing customer quotations accurately and efficiently.
- Taking customer and dealer orders and seeing them through the business from order to completion.
- Keeping the sales CRM accurate, current and properly maintained.
- Making sure CRM records and follow-ups are kept up to date, particularly during busy periods such as agricultural shows and demonstration seasons.
- Speaking with customers and dealers by phone and email, answering questions and providing clear updates.
- Keeping customers informed about order progress, delivery expectations and any changes that may arise.
- Working with Production, Purchasing, Logistics and Accounts to keep orders progressing.
- Entering sales orders and customer details accurately into our internal systems.
- Keeping an eye on outstanding orders and flagging potential problems before they become bigger issues.
- Supporting Sales Managers with follow-ups and customer administration when they're away from the office.
- Dealing with incoming telephone and email enquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Assisting with sales reports and other administrative tasks as required.
- Looking for practical ways to improve our sales administration and make life easier for the wider sales team.
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
- A minimum of three years' experience in sales administration, sales support or a similar role.
- Experience handling orders for manufactured, engineered or other physical products.
- Experience dealing with customers, dealers, distributors or trade customers.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- A meticulous approach to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence using CRM and other business systems.
- The ability to juggle competing priorities without losing sight of deadlines or detail.
- The confidence to follow up with colleagues, suppliers and customers to obtain the information needed to keep things moving.
- The ability to work effectively on your own while being part of a wider team.
- A professional and helpful approach to customers.
- The ability to stay composed and productive when things get busy.
More Than Just Administration
For us, the right person isn't simply someone who can process paperwork. You'll need to be comfortable keeping track of several customers and orders at once, spotting potential problems and taking action before they affect the customer. You'll need to communicate confidently with people both inside and outside the business and understand that accurate administration is an important part of delivering a successful sale.
We're particularly interested in someone who is:
Proactive You see what needs doing and take action without waiting to be asked.
Organised You can keep multiple orders, customers and deadlines under control.
Detail-focused You understand the importance of getting specifications, quotations and orders right first time.
Customer-minded You care about giving customers and dealers a professional, responsive experience.
Confident You're happy picking up the phone, asking questions and chasing information when necessary.
Commercial You understand that good administration supports sales and ultimately contributes to the success of the business.
A team player You enjoy working with colleagues across Sales, Production, Purchasing, Logistics and Accounts to get the right result for the customer.
Experience That Would Be Useful
Experience in any of the following areas would be particularly valuable:
- Manufacturing or engineering.
- Agricultural machinery, equipment or related products.
- Dealer or distributor networks.
- ERP and manufacturing order processing systems.
- Preparing quotations using technical product information.
- Coordinating sales orders with manufacturing or production teams.
- Businesses where production schedules and delivery dates can change.
Why This Role Matters
The Sales Administrator is a vital part of our sales operation.
With Sales Managers spending much of their time away from the office, you'll help ensure customers don't have to wait for answers and that orders continue moving forward.
You'll have the opportunity to become a trusted point of contact for both the sales team and our customers, build strong relationships across the business and make a genuine difference to how efficiently our sales operation runs.
If you're an experienced Sales Administrator who enjoys taking responsibility, solving problems and keeping things organised, we'd like to hear from you. To apply please send your CV and covering letter to [email protected]

Marketing Executive
East Knapton, North Yorkshire | Part Time, 2 Days Per Week | Office-Based
Ryetec is looking for a Marketing Executive to join our team on a part-time basis, working approximately two days per week from our premises in East Knapton, North Yorkshire.
This is a practical, varied role for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of marketing and is happy taking an idea from concept through to delivery.
We're looking for someone with a few years' marketing experience who can take ownership of our day-to-day marketing activity, bring fresh ideas to the business and make sure our products, people and brand are consistently well represented.
It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to have a genuine impact, rather than being responsible for just one area of marketing. Marketing at Ryetec covers a wide range of activity, so you'll also be involved in the day-to-day requirements of the business. You'll be encouraged to identify opportunities, suggest new ideas and find practical ways to increase Ryetec's visibility, engage customers and generate sales leads.
The Role
You'll work across a broad range of marketing activities, with particular responsibility for the following key areas:
Social Media
Take ownership of Ryetec's social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google Business Profile, including:
- Creating engaging and relevant content.
- Planning and scheduling posts.
- Developing new ideas for content.
- Promoting products, news, events and company activity.
- Monitoring activity and identifying opportunities to increase engagement.
Website Management
Keep the Ryetec website current, useful and engaging by:
- Adding new products and product information.
- Publishing company news and updates.
- Promoting offers, campaigns and events.
- Updating existing content where required.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the website and generate more enquiries.
Brochures & Marketing Materials
Create, update and maintain a range of marketing materials, including:
- Product brochures and literature.
- Presentations.
- Promotional materials.
- Sales support documents.
- Other digital and printed marketing collateral.
Video & Content
Help Ryetec make greater use of video and other engaging content by:
- Creating and editing short-form videos for social media.
- Developing product-focused content.
- Supporting longer-form content where appropriate.
- Helping coordinate and publish podcasts and YouTube content.
Events & Exhibitions
Help Ryetec make the most of relevant industry events by:
- Helping organise and book attendance.
- Coordinating marketing materials and requirements.
- Supporting Ryetec's presence before, during and after events.
- Creating content around events and exhibitions.
About You
We're looking for someone with around 2–5 years' practical marketing experience, ideally gained in a role where you've been involved across several areas rather than specialising in just one discipline.
You'll be someone who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing the work yourself, whether that's writing a social media post, updating a website, designing a brochure, editing a video or putting together a campaign.
The ideal candidate will be:
Hands-on and proactive
You don't need to be given a list of tasks every morning. You can identify what needs doing, get on with it and take projects through to completion.
Creative
You enjoy coming up with ideas for content, campaigns, promotions and ways to showcase products.
Organised
You can manage several projects, deadlines and priorities at the same time without losing track of the detail.
Quality-focused
You take pride in producing professional, accurate and consistent marketing materials and communications.
Commercially aware
You understand that marketing isn't simply about creating content. It should help generate enquiries, engage customers and ultimately support sales.
Digitally confident
You're comfortable using social media platforms, website CMS systems and tools such as Canva, Adobe or similar software, as well as basic video-editing tools.
Independent
You're able to manage your workload and work with minimal supervision, while still being a collaborative member of the Ryetec team.
A strong communicator
You're comfortable working with colleagues, suppliers, event organisers and other external contacts.
Experience in some or all of the following would be beneficial:
- Social media content creation and management.
- Website content management.
- Canva, Adobe or similar design software.
- Basic video filming and editing.
- Product marketing.
- Digital marketing campaigns.
- Email and promotional marketing.
- Trade shows and exhibitions.
- YouTube and podcast content.
- Marketing within a manufacturing, engineering, agricultural or product-based business.
Working Arrangements
This is a part-time position working approximately two days per week, with the potential for the role and hours to grow in the future.
The role is office-based at Ryetec's premises in East Knapton, North Yorkshire, and the successful candidate will be expected to work both days from the office.
Being part of the team is important to us. We want someone who will get to know our products, customers and business and use that knowledge to make our marketing more effective.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a broad marketing role within an established business and have a visible impact on how Ryetec presents itself to customers and the wider market.
You'll have plenty of scope to bring your own ideas, improve what we're already doing and introduce new ways of promoting our products and generating interest in the business.
The role would suit an experienced Marketing Executive looking for a part-time opportunity with the potential to increase hours, or a marketing professional with 2–5 years' experience who wants a varied position where they can make a real contribution.
If you're creative, practical, organised and commercially minded, and you enjoy getting things done rather than simply managing marketing from a distance, we'd like to hear from you.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter to [email protected].
