Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2023

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund 2023 (FETF) has now launched to help invest in equipment that will improve productivity and efficiency in farming businesses in England the application window is now open until 4th April 2023.

You can apply for a grant if your business is in England and you’re a:

Farmer
Horticulturalist
Forestry owner
Contractor carrying out services to any of the above

Timber Trailers & Cranes

With the FETF Fund a grant of up to £10,191 is available when purchasing a qualifying timber trailer & crane combination, such as the Ryetec 10 Ton Timber Trailer with 6.7m Crane pictured below:

- The grant is broken down as follows:

- Timber Crane (up to £5,391 grant available)

- That can reach at least 6m with a lift capacity of 500kg at this reach.

- The crane may be either cab mounted, mountable via three-point linkage to a tractor, or purchased to fit on a timber trailer.

- Forestry/Timber Trailer (up to £4,800 grant available)

- The trailer must have a timber carrying capacity of at least 9,000kg.

- The trailer must be either design-approved by the DVSA or have an individual vehicle approval certificate.

- The trailer must have no floor or sides and be fitted with permanent headboard and permanent bolsters.

- The vehicle must be fitted with low ground pressure tyres or floatation tyres or automatic inflation and deflation system for the tyres.

Low Disturbance Sub Soilers

With the FETF Fund a grant of up to £2,804 is available when purchasing a qualifying sward lifter meeting the following criteria:

- A minimum of 3 legs with adjustable depth control (at least to 300mm) via the legs or packing rollers.

- Machine must have cutting disc in front of, and a packing roller behind, each leg, shear bolt or mechanical reset on each leg.

- Flail Mulchers for Orchards & Vineyards

With the FETF Fund a grant of up to £960 is available when purchasing a qualifying flail mower which meets the following specification:

- Machine must be able to shred branches up to 6cm in diameter into woodchips.

- To be eligible, the machine must have a minimum working width of 1.60m and a maximum working width not exceeding 2.30m.

Direct Drills

Various amounts of grant are available through the FETF Fund for direct drills depending on drill width & specification from 3m to 6m starting at £12,054 up to £25,000.

To be eligible the drill must have a minimum drilling width of 2.9m, 3.9m or 5.9m must have no cultivation or seed bed preparation equipment in front of the seeding slot mechanism and the seed must be placed in the seeding slot.

The drill must be able to drill through a fully established growing cover crop of at least 15cm in height.

Purchase must include seed hoppers. The drill must be able to drill the full range of arable and cover crops including cereals.
